Incidence of pes planovalgus in young school-aged children with anamnesis of developmental dysplasia of the hip
Buzková, Tereza ; Nováková, Pavlína (advisor) ; Zahradník, Petr (referee)
This diploma thesis researches the relationship between developmental dysplasia of the hips in the anamnesis and the occurrence of pes planovalgus in young school-aged children. The first two chapters of the theoretical part of the thesis provide a summary of information about developmental dysplasia of the hip joints and pes planovalgus, which are essential for comprehending the entire issue. The subsequent chapter extensively examines the connection between these conditions, bringing together and expanding knowledge about the factors that support the potential relationship between developmental hip dysplasia and pes planovalgus. Specifically, it highlights the significance of increased femoral neck anteversion and generalized joint hypermobility. The potential impact of gender is also discussed. The theoretical part concludes with a discussion of physiotherapeutic methods used in treating developmental dysplasia of the hip joints and pes planovalgus. The practical part of the thesis is based on data collected using a specially designed non- standardized protocol comprising various standardized tests. The results were subjected to statistical analysis. The study included a total of 40 children of younger school age, ranging from 6 to 12 years. Half of the participants had an anamnesis of...
Measurement of muscle activity during gait at patients with knock knees
Krist, Lukáš ; Pánek, David (advisor) ; Pavlů, Dagmar (referee)
Title: Measurement of muscle activity during gait at patients with knock knees Objective: The aim of this study was to compare muscle activation between two groups of volunteers with and without knock-knees during level ground and incline walking on treadmill by surface electromyography. Muscles were measured on both legs, specificly tibialis anterior muscle, gastrocnemius lateralis muscle, vastus medialis muscle, adductor magnus muscle, semimembranosus muscle and tensor fasciae latae muscle. The goal of this experiment was to discover which muscles are more or less aktive according to the other group of participants. Then based on the conclusion could be possible to affect these changes by physiotherapy in future. Methods: The surface electromyography was used for measurement muscle activation. There were 12 volunteers, 9 women and 3 men, participate on this study in age from 21 to 27. Intermalleolar distance was used as a screening investigation for sorting into two groups whether the knock-knees are present or not. Result: There were different muscle activation between both groupes. Some muscles had increased activation others had lowest activation. However, this increase can be considered as statistically significant only in case of averrage amplitude muscle activity during midstance of step by...
Case study of physiotherapeutic care of a patient with diagnosis of status after distal femur reosteosynthesis due to the knee joint valgus
Vernerová, Tereza ; Říha, Michal (advisor) ; Vrbický, David (referee)
Title: Case study of physiotherapeutic care of a patient with diagnosis of status after distal femur reosteosynthesis due to the knee joint valgus Aims: The aim of this Bachelor thesis has been to treat the case study of a patient after distal femur reosteosynthesis and to prepare a theoretical basis for this issue with the help of findings from specialized publications. Summary: This Bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. The first, general part follows theoretical findings about anatomy and physiology of the knee joint, its axial deformities, reasons for their genesis and their operational and conservative treatment. At the end of the first part, physiotherapeutic methods that can be used after distal femur osteosynthesis are described. Second, specialized part contains the case study of physiotherapeutic care of a patient with diagnosis of status after distal femur reosteosynthesis due to the knee joint valgus, including the therapy results evaluation. Key words: physical therapy, case study, knee joint, valgus, varus, osteosynthesis, reosteosynthesis
